Definitions, characteristics and application of the legislation

Cookies are small text files that the sites you visit send and record on your computer or mobile device, which are then retransmitted to the same sites on your next visit. Thanks to cookies, a site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to visit said site or navigates from one page to another of it. Cookies, therefore, are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of information regarding the activities of users who access a site and may also contain a unique identification code that allows you to track the user’s navigation within the site itself for statistical or advertising purposes.

The use of third-party cookies on this website is governed by the rules prepared by the third parties themselves; therefore, the interested party is invited to read the information on the processing of personal data published on the web pages indicated in point 6 Purposes and List of Cookies used by the site.

Types of cookies: This website is analyzed with a cookie scanning tool to keep a list as accurate as possible. The cookies that can be detected are classified into the following categories:

1) Necessary cookies: Necessary cookies help make a website usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the site. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.2) Preference cookies: these allow, in the event that the Data Subject has provided explicit and informed consent, to a website to remember information that influences the way the site behaves or presents itself, such as the user’s preferred language or region.

3) Statistical cookies: used to process statistical analyses, such as analyses aimed at (i) evaluating the effectiveness of the services provided through the Site, (ii) designing the Site, or (iii) measuring its “traffic”, i.e. the number of visitors, possibly classified according to the characteristics of interest (e.g. geographical area, time slot, etc.)

4) Marketing, social and profiling cookies: they are used to monitor users on websites, in the event that the Data Subject has provided explicit and informed consent. The intent is to display ads that are relevant and engaging to the individual user.

The processing of data for the fulfilment of the purposes referred to in point 1 is necessary to fulfil your request and any refusal could limit and/or prevent the full use of the functions and services on the site. The legal basis for the processing of your data for the purposes referred to in point 1 is legitimate interest, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) and recital 47 of the GDPR. The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party, provided that such interests are not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require the protection of personal data, having regard to the reasonable expectations of the data subject based on his or her relationship with the controller. Activities strictly necessary for the operation of the site and the provision of the navigation service on the site. The provision of the data indicated for purposes 2, 3 and 4 is optional on the legal basis of consent, pursuant to article 6.1.a), and any refusal to process it does not compromise the functions and services present on the site.

At the time of the first access to the Site, the User will see an immediate pop-up banner containing the brief information on cookies, the link to this extended information on cookies and a series of functions for managing preferences regarding the cookies to be installed on their device.

In particular, through the functions contained in the banner, the user can: (i) accept all the cookies on the Site, including those for targeted advertising, giving their consent; (ii) refuse the installation of all cookies on the Site other than those strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the latter (i.e. the “Necessary Cookies”); (iii) access, through the appropriate link, “Review your choices on cookies“, where you can acquire more information on the specific cookies present on the Site, grouped by homogeneous categories, and, where applicable, give or withdraw consent or object to the processing with reference to the categories of cookies to be enabled or disabled on your device; (iv) close the cookie banner by clicking on the appropriate icon and continue browsing the Site while maintaining the default settings.

The Data Controller specifies that the “default” setting of cookies implies the installation of only Necessary Cookies.
